Take care of your not-so-cheap fitness investment
Your elliptical trainer should have come with two essential elements to help care for the machine:
- A product manual. Be sure to read through all of the elliptical care and maintenance tips in the product manual before heavy use. It will provide details on the do’s and dont’s of the machine.
- A small bottle of elliptical lubricant. This elliptical lubricant is crucial in maintaining the longevity of your elliptical. It will help in protecting against dust and dirt that can and will collect in the tracks, ruining your machine. Consult your product manual to learn how to apply the elliptical lubrication. The bottle given with the machine should be enough to last 6 months to a year depending on how heavily it gets used.
Another highly important elliptical maintenance part you need to have is an elliptical mat. It’s beneficial in a number of ways. The main reason an elliptical mat is necessary is to keep dust and grime from getting into your motor and tracks and bogging down important parts. Not to mention, it will protect your floor. They are fairly inexpensive, around $45, and they’ll save you hundreds in repairs in the long run!
